7-Zip Beta 9:18 – Powerful Compression Software
7-Zip is a free compression software that can handle almost all type of well known popular file type like ZIP, CAB, RAR, ISO. In addition, it offers its own 7z format which compression ration is far better than other type.
The version 9, which is currently still in the development phase. For the first type the 7-Zip will support LZMA2 algorithm as well as the archive type XZ. In addition this version will able to unpack *.7z archives and file called APM (Apple Partition Map). On the other hand the performance of the application has been improved in certain scenarios.

Beta Version 9:18 Images can now with SquashFS CramFs and unzip file systems and able to process some tar and ISO images with incorrect headers.

- 7-Zip now can unpack and CramFs squashfs file system images.
- 7-Zip now can unpack ISO archives and some TAR with incorrect headers.
- New SFX module for installers small (in extra package).
- Some bugs were fixed.
